Notes from Therapy Session with Nathan (age 6 and 7)
 
p.132: “Daddy, Uncle Hank plays with my bum.” (emphasis added)
 
p. 4: “She (mother) lies and lies and tells the judge lies about my dad and also she slammed the door on Nathan’s face.”
 
p. 5: “Mom was mean and hit dad but then she told the police he did it.”
 
p. 7: “Dr. Hilmo, mommy lied to the judge and daddy is the good guy -- not mommy -- and our teacher lied to the principal and (___) become worse. She lied.”
 
p. 9: “She hurt me by twisting my arm. She hurt Nathan by closing the door on his face and she hurt daddy by kicking him out of the house for no reason.”
 
p. 12: “Visit with Dad? I like him more than I like mom because mommy lied to judge. She hit dad (began yelling as if to police): “You put my mom in jail not my dad because she hit “Nathan.” Keara reported Nathan had a meltdown at seeing Dad. Nathan didn’t want to say good bye.
 
p. 15: “(Visit with Dad?) Yelled “LOVED IT.” “Mom lied to the judge. I’m worried about that.” … Mom might be changing her name, but now she says she’s not to keep out of trouble. She’s just trying to get dad in trouble but I’d rather see her get in trouble than dad. Mom should have to move out of that house and it would be good for me and Nathan and Dad. (Dad lying?) My dad never lies and I would not see him if he lied. But the judge believes Miss Tidy Up. (Kim)” Ms Conefry lied to the principal and the principal lied to the judge.” 
 
p. 17: Uncle Hank is always spoiling us with dollars and stuff. I say no but he does it anyway. … I’d like you to tell the judge to get Kim out of the house and get daddy into the house. Daddy deserves to live in the house that he built and Kim deserves to move somewhere else. “ … I don’t want to see Kim. (ever?) “Well, only a little.” …(Police?) We wanted to change things so Dad could get into the house. (Hank) He just giving us gold dollars everyday. Mom said she never divorced Uncle Hank, but she did. It’s not very good for me daddy and Nathan.” 
 
9/2/03 “My dad has enough money to take us in a hot air balloon, but mom won’t let us go. We need more adventures or it’s not fun.” 
 
10/21/03: Mo. reports childrens’ preoccupation with running away per fathers talk of same on phone. Nathan tells that yes he wants to run away ”because I haven’t seen my daddy enough. I’m gonna ride my bike 2 miles.”
 
p.67    “Mom is so mean. I want the policeman to fight Kim and shoving the door on my face. That was really rude.”
 
p.78: “I want to live with dad all the time and not see mom. I’m feeling happy with my dad … I want to live in daddy’s world.”
 
p.88: Nathan very sad about mom marrying Uncle Hank. He agreed and wants to live with daddy. Talks of wanting to live at daddy’s house.
 
p.91: Nathan: “I’m really sick about Mommy telling lies about Speedy’s father.” Complaints about missing daddy and mommy’s lies. No comments about wedding even when I brought it up. Nathan: “I will not miss her.”
 
p.123:              Nathan: “I have to fill my head with dreams so I can have a great adventure. (W/ father? Running away?) I know it’s dangerous but it’s the only way I can get to my dad’s and have more time. (Talked to Dad about it?) “He says don’t but next month I will.” Change? “Ask judge for more time at dad’s house.”
 
 
Attorney Pulido Intimidating Witness
 
“Call from S. Pulido. Concern that T. Deal is harassing me and warns against statements because Tom is planning to sue everyone – is already suing school district, trying to sue FCS, and could also try to sue me. Pulido warned against giving any statements to anyone.” (8-2-02)

p.122:   Extremely angry at mother? “No, but it’s not fair that mom won’t let us see DaDa.” Do you have a plan to run away? “No, that’s Nathan. I’m not going to.” Want Mother to get in trouble? “No!    Just to let me see daddy more.”

”Father is crazy & he can’t be around them. Pulido thinks not in best interests to release kids records to father. Not seeing his psychiatrist anymore and has retracted permission for her to speak to anyone. Trying to hold up eval. but is his own worst enemy.” (p. 124)
 
 
False Statements from Dr. Hilmo
 
 “Draws black whirling tornado picture.   Huge red and black sun with big leering mouth.” (The pictures that Hilmo produced do not show any tornados, nor does the “black sunny have a “big leering mouth.”; exhibit “G”)
 
 
Notes from Dr. Hilmo’s review of phone conversations
 
p. 128: “You should be allowed to be over here” Nick goes “Sigh” This is stink. Fa encourages Nick to scream. “I’m gonna wish that mom would be nice.” She just gonna talk about bad things on you. Telling lies about you. It’s a long story. “Mom said you are a liar! I know you’re not.” “Be sure mommy buys you river shoes. “No dad, she won’t. She can easily trick us.” (note: after 16 months of therapy, Hilmo misstates Nathan’s name as “Nick” several times.)
